At 9 a.m. today, a grand meeting to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held in Tian'anmen Square, Beijing. A grand military parade was held to commemorate this great day together with the people of the world.
This magnificent military parade carries the memory of history and the remembrance of martyrs, demonstrates the new outlook of the Chinese military in the new era, and more importantly, represents a solemn commitment to safeguarding world peace. Eighty years ago, as the main battlefield in the East during the World Anti-Fascist War, China achieved the dawn of victory at the cost of enormous national sacrifices. Among the participating formations, the honorary battle flags that carry the legacy of the anti-Japanese war forces silently tell the story of that solemn, tragic yet glorious history.
On today's military parade ground, the people's military presented a brand-new look. The vast majority of the equipment on parade are new-type domestic weapons, covering the multi-dimensional battlefields of land, sea, air, space and electronics, demonstrating the latest achievements of the national defense science, technology and industry. These modern equipment are not only a symbol of national defense strength, but also a solid armor for safeguarding peace.

Of particular note is the first collective appearance of multiple new-type combat forces. These units meet the needs of modern warfare and demonstrate the remarkable achievements of the people's military in new combat domains. As the "invisible vanguards" on the battlefield, the information operations formation can secure victories in the electromagnetic space from thousands of miles away. The unmanned combat system formation, on the other hand, marks the advent of the era of coordinated combat between manned and unmanned forces.
China has always upheld its solemn commitment to peaceful development, a commitment deeply rooted in the "harmony as the most precious" tradition of Chinese culture. As a responsible major country, China actively participates in international peacekeeping, humanitarian relief and other operations, and the Chinese military has become an important force in safeguarding world peace.
This military parade not only demonstrates national strength, but also highlights the spiritual outlook of the Chinese nation. From the firm eyes of the parade participants to the national flags waved by the on-site spectators, a strong sense of national pride surges everywhere. As a veteran of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression emotionally stated: "Seeing our motherland so powerful today, all the sacrifices we made back then were worthwhile."
As the first military parade in the new era, this is also a solemn oath of the people's military forging ahead on its new journey. From mechanization to informatization and intelligentization, the people's military is accelerating its modernization drive and constantly enhancing its capability to safeguard peace. Being strong but not seeking hegemony, resolute yet responsible—this is the fundamental essence of China's defensive national defense policy.
When the air echelons traced beautiful colored smoke trails, it was both a deep remembrance of the years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and a sincere wish for a bright future. Accompanied by the majestic melody sung by tens of thousands of people, peace doves spread their wings and flew over Tiananmen Square, tracing a peaceful path under the blue sky. The precious peace that we cherish was won at the cost of the lives of countless martyrs; the prosperity and strength that we hope for requires the continuous struggle of generations. The September 3rd military parade, with the torch of history, illuminated the path of peace, demonstrated the might and civilization of a great nation's military, and more importantly, conveyed the Chinese nation's unremitting pursuit of peaceful development.
